Outlet Shopping in Italy

Space Outlet

If you love a bargain then designer outlet shopping is a must in Italy!

I went to the Space Outlet and The Mall while I was in Florence. Tours are available that cover both outlets in a day, but both places can be easily done by yourself via public transport.

Space Outlet – An outlet dedicated to selling Prada and Miu miu pieces.

I was in heaven!!! I picked up a hobo handbag, a new wallet and Miu miu pump heels.

This Prada outlet is by far the best outlet that I have ever been to. Even if you are not a Prada fan you will find something that you’ll like. There’s everything from womenswear, to menswear, to shoes, to handbags and other accessories. Most of the stock were from the most recent past season’s collection and any classic designs that were launched in seasonal colours.

The journey was approx 1 hr 20mins by train from Florence main station to Montevarchi. From Montevarchi it is another 5 minute drive to the outlet, by foot maybe 30 mins? But don’t worry about being stranded at Montevarchi station. There’s a line of taxis at the taxi rank and many of the drivers knew straight away everyone was after the Space Outlet. The taxi fare from the station to the outlet is approx 12 euros. A tip here is to spot out any other fashionistas that would want to share a taxi with you.

The outlet is off a busy road with plenty of parking spaces (if you decide to drive yourself). Upon arrival make sure you pick up a ticket before you enter the warehouse – this ticket is your customer order and will be required to be presented to the the Sales Assistant when making your purchases. Typical items will be at between 30-70% off the rrp.

The Mall – An outlet of variety of designer brands.

The Mall is next outlet that I would recommend to go to for designer goodies at a fraction of the price. From Florence main station there is a shuttle bus service that takes you to the mall. There are 3 scheduled buses in a day and the duration of the bus trip is a little less than an hour.

The Mall is an outdoor dedicated shopping precinct and hosts most of the well known designer houses such as Bottega Veneta, Marni, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Christian Dior, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Sergio Rossi Tod’s, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent. Recently Prada and Miu Miu have also opened new outlets at The Mall (so if you don’t have time for the Space Outlet, The Mall is a good option).

Did I buy anything? Of course I did! I bought a Marni framed leather satchel, YSL cashmere scarf and a Dior silk scarf.

  1. Hello, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar one
and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam feedback?
If so how do you reduce it, any plugin or anything you can recommend?
I get so much lately it’s driving me crazy so any help is very much appreciated.

    • Thanks for supporting this blog!

I set all of my reader’s comments for moderation and that way most of the spam comments are captured by wordpress as spam.

why dont you give that a try and then turn off the moderation to see if it’ll reduce the spam content?

      hope this helps!

  2. I drove to the Space Outlet a few years ago. It was very difficult to find. It sounds like the train is a good option. Prada and Miu Miu must be a very recent (and welcome) addition to the Mall. I’ll be checking that out when I go back in October.
